Underneath the masquerade of Jayco Photography you'll find me, Johnathan Comer. I believe photography is more than taking a "pretty picture." Inside a photograph you'll find the possibility of an endless amount of different elements: love, hate, excitement, fear, beauty, ugliness, grace, unknown, composition, light, color or lack thereof. The possibilities are endless. When combined, however, these elements create something much more than a random grouping of pixels or exposed silver hilade. A photograph develops. The "pretty picture" is replaced and a photograph emerges which speaks much more than a thousand words. It speaks for a lifetime.
My love for photography was first realized 11 years ago when I picked up a Pentax K1000 my junior year of high school while taking a photography elective class. The negatives were horribly exposed, the composition was questionable at best, and my prints lacked any contrast. Nonetheless, I knew deep down inside a little spark was lit and from that point on I wanted to learn all I could. While in college a few years later I decided to ditch my studies in computer science and dove into photography head first. Since then I've studied under some of the best photographers around, and taken my love for photography around the world. I've been published in various magazines, newspapers and websites, including nationalgeographic.com.
Thank you so much for visiting, and I hope that whatever your photographic needs are, you'll allow me be part of it!
